“Anything you can do, I can do better….” Make it back-to-back weeks for a Duck light weight to be the featured Wrestler of the Week in Division III. Hoerle followed up teammate Kyle Slendorn’s performance before Thanksgiving, with a break-out tournament of his own at the 12th Annual New Standard Invitational, hosted by York College.
The sophomore went 4-0 on the weekend, winning the individual championship at 133lbs. Along the way, Hoerle defeated 2x All-American, Jake Giordano of TCNJ, and current #1 ranked wrestler nationally by the NWCA Coaches Poll. Hoerle left no doubt, shutting Giordano down,
7-0 in the semi-finals. He then capped his tournament off with a 7-2 decision over Gabriel Leo-Esparolini of Johnson & Wales. Hoerle is 16-7 on the young season.
Stevens Institute is back in action on Saturday, December 11th at the Messiah Duals.
