Your #D3Wrestling National Wrestler of the Week… Tyler Fleetwood, 133LBS, UW-Eau Claire!
First off, wow… What a weekend of wrestling!! The Pete Wilson Invite was the marquee event of the weekend, and it did not disappoint. There were several top contenders for this accolade, but Tyler Fleetwood had arguably the most impressive wins and toughest bracket.
Fleetwood was the #6 seed in the bracket. He knocked off Dylan Le (Ohio Northern), then took out BAMF #2 JC Cardenas (SUNY Cortland), then Ethan Pogorzelsk (UW-Whitewater), before defeating BAMF #8 David Massey (Mt. Union) in the finals.
Notably, Massey took out BAMF #7 Matt Berlin (UW-Stevens Point) in his semi-final, while Pogorzelsk knocked off #2-Seed and BAMF #4 Andrew Perelka (John Carroll) in the quarterfinals.
